Takesue from Japan — Brand Story

The Takesue family has long carried a traditional Katabami family crest, passed down through generations.

Katabami is a small and delicate flower, yet it is known for its quiet strength and resilience.
Even when stepped on, it continues to grow, taking root and living on with gentle persistence.

Because of this, the Katabami crest has long symbolized prosperity, continuity, and the passing down of family legacy in Japan.

Since childhood, I have always held the name “Takesue” close to my heart.

I grew up hearing that my ancestors were samurai, and I have always carried a quiet wish within me:
to leave the name “Takesue” in the world in a meaningful and honorable way.

Using the original Katabami crest of the Takesue family as a foundation, I added a sword and reimagined it into a modern emblem.

The sword does not represent aggression or conflict.

It represents the strength to protect loved ones,
the strength of motherhood,
and the quiet strength to carry one’s beliefs forward.

Through this crest, I hope to share the beauty of Japan, the warmth of handmade work, and the comfort of still and peaceful moments.

Each piece I create carries both the history of the Takesue family and my own story as I continue that legacy into the future.
